Reaching Out and Inspiring Forward

GCA’s mission is to build, support, and preserve the integrity of the coaching profession in Georgia. GCA reaches out to the surrounding community to share our coaching expertise. Our goal is to align ourselves with organizations that we can support in achieving their missions and goals, while simultaneously providing GCA member coaches with the unique opportunity to use their coaching skills and experience to benefit an under-served segment of the community.

GCA Donates $1056.51 to the Ron Clark Academy!
As a part of GCA's Bigger Game for 2007, the organization contributed over one thousand dollars to the Ron Clark Academy.  The proceeds came from the recent Bigger Game workshop given by Rick Tamlyn, MCC hosted by the GCA in downtown Atlanta.  The Ron Clark Academy serves 5th through 8th grade students from low-wealth areas by providing unparalleled instruction, state-of-the-art facilities, and some of the most dynamic and innovative teachers in the country.  Learn more about Ron Clark's bigger game by visiting their website.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

1. GCA and FOCUS, Families Of Children Under Stress, www.focus-ga.org are combining forces to provide four, 1 hour group coaching workshops for this non-profit organization, starting in January. These group coaching workshops will provide parents of chronically ill children with life tools so they may better deal with the daily challenges of raising a chronically ill child. We are calling any and all levels of coaches to assist in this program.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact: Kristin Ruis at 678-296-0614 or kristin@newbalancedlife.com

2. As a community service endeavor the pilot program will benefit returning veterans by providing them with coaching to be able to integrate back into the private sector.

The Veterans you will be coaching are presently in a coaching program that will end October 14, 2007. Many are interested and excited about continuing with our program. It is with great pleasure that we will partner with Jennifer Hodgson-Kozel’s program: Life Nav™, sponsored by Inward Bound Equine Assisted Learning Center. The link is: www.Life-Nav.com.

If you are interested in coaching veterans, please contact: Ann Hardin at 678-910-4326 or annhardin@bellsouth.net.

Good Reasons to Get Involved:

The GCA Community Outreach programs would not be possible without the enthusiastic, heart-felt contributions of our coaches. There are many compelling reasons to volunteer your services and become a part of the GCA Community Service Team, some of which include the opportunity to:

  • Use your coaching skills with under-served populations that may not otherwise be exposed to such life-affirming gifts of service. Bottom line - it’s a way to share and to give back!
  • Work with other coaches around a heart-felt common goal.  As coaches, we’re often busy and working in isolation.  GCA Community Service affords you a meaningful focus where you can use your skills and talents in collaboration with your peers for a cause that truly matters.
  • Get to know your fellow coaches one-on-one, experience different styles, and strike up lasting relationships.
